First Day in Seoul

Well my flight was extremely long! I didn't like that at all.... My first night in Seoul I stayed in a very tiny room at the Sam Woo. They have heated wood floors! Crazy! Then the next day the head teacher, Mr. Moon, picked me up and took me to the school to meet the director of the school, Ms. Lee. Then we came to my apartment. Lots of cleaning to do!!!! My next door neighbor Kristina is from Norman Oklahoma so we plan to watch the game in January. Colin is here so he helped me rearrange my room until I found an arrangement that suited me. Kristina offered to show us around so we thankfully accepted. She showed me the local marts and restraunts. Kristina then introduced me to Susan(the teacher I'm replacing) and April (the fun loving karaoke girl...more to come). We walked the short 4 and extremely cold blocks to Lotte World! No big deal its only the largest indoor/outdoor amusement park known to man kind! My first meal was amusingly lasagna :) We walked around the different shops and the girls showed Colin and I the different foods.

After walking around we came back to my apartment to unpack and then later went and had Christmas Dinner at a place that Colin likes to call....Beef on a Leaf. I'll let ya know what the real name is for it when I can remember! The people at the dinner were Kristina, April, Rachel, Colin and I. Rachel is a former employee of J.M. English School and she is Korean. We played some games after dinner involving the very popular So-Ju (which taste like rubbing alcohol) and had a couple of Cass (Korean Miller Lite). The games were fun and I think April and I drank most of the So-Ju. After dinner we went to a little place where you rent a room for 20 dollar and have your own private karaoke session! There is a name for it....but I don't remember....maybe Naibang. I'll let ya know! It was so much fun! Colin got pretty wasted and made April and I sing Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas!". Finally we returned home and fell into a drunken slumber.... Which only lasted 6 hours for me because I'm so messed up with the time zone!!

Anyways I hope that you all are enjoying my blog....I'll try not to put so many details in the next one! I miss you all and Merry Christmas!

  1. Hi Tara,.

I can't quite tell by your blog, but were you an employee of JM English School. Just wondering because I have been offered a job there and I am just trying to find some info on it?

    Thanks!
